I did this a while ago. I've always thought Judy Garland was beautiful, dispite public opinion. I'm not really sure I like this piece, hence my delay in putting it up, don't really feel it's been worth the effort of putting it up.
Usually, Judy was cast as the "Ugly Duckling". While going through the casting process for Wizard of Oz, those casting her always told her what was wrong with her. According to her, noone ever told her what was right with her. Sad truth of that is what probably lead to her abuse of pharmaceuticals. Anyway, most everyone these days agrees she was beautiful. I'm pleased you enjoy it. It's always nice when people like my stuff more than me.
This...is simply stunning! I must say you've done a superb job on this image. How did you create the image to have the rough paper look? It looks like a real painting on a fine quality paper. Bravo!
I think this is a pretty piece and I really like the play of light on her face. This color palette works really well for this type of work.
The eyes look a little...empty...or something, but perhaps that best portrays how she felt inside? Heh--don't want to get too philosophical about it, I guess.
It reminds me of Picasso's blue piece, The Guitarist (whatever) which is a work I have always favored. Good job.
